LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers survived a double-overtime thriller against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, edging them out 145-144 on Saturday night in an exhilarating conclusion to the NBA's Rivals Week.
In what unfolded as an unforgettable classic, James and Curry engaged in a head-to-head battle reminiscent of old times, delivering clutch baskets throughout the fourth quarter and both overtime periods.
With just six seconds left on the clock, Curry nailed a pivotal three-pointer at the top of the key, granting the Warriors a narrow 144-143 lead. However, James drew a foul on a drive during the Lakers' possession and calmly sank two crucial free throws to reclaim the lead at 145-144. In the Warriors' final attempt, Curry's ambitious 68-foot shot fell short of finding the bottom of the net.
